
The El Paso County Sheriff deputies have arrested a suspect man, for murdering two Colorado Springs teenagers, who were found dead in south of Fountain, last week.
19-year-old Gustavo Antonio Marquez faces two counts of first degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of child abuse resulting in death stemming from the deaths of 15-year-old Benjamin Greer and 16-year-old Natalie Partida.
The Sheriff’s Office said that it has booked Marquez “in the late evening of Sunday”.
The two teens’ bodies were found around 8:45 a.m. on March 12th along side of The Old Pueblo Road, which is about three quarters of a mile south of Hanover Road. The deaths were ruled homicides.
The Pikes Peak International Raceway is just across I-25 from where the bodies were found.
According to El Paso County Jail records, Marquez is being held without any bond on the charges. He appeared in the court on Monday afternoon for an advisement status hearing.
The court records state that Marquez was arrested on February 24th by the Fountain Police Department on two felony and misdemeanor charges.
Marquez was charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault with attempted serious bodily injury, third-degree assault, and child abuse. He posted a 5,000 USD in that case on February 27th and appeared in court on March 8th in that case.
A spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff Office said that, she had "not been made aware of any connection" between the two cases.
Marquez was restraining orders filed against him in the past, though neither involved the teens, who were killed.
The spokesperson did not say how the two teens were killed. But, said that Marquez’s affidavit is sealed.
