Denver man accused of shooting in his pot-filled backyard !!

A Denver man had been arrested and is being held for investigation of first-degree murder, after allegedly shooting two teens who were in his backyard.

The teens, of 14 and 15 years, jumped the back fence of Keith Hammock’s home at 2830 High St. a little after 2 AM on Sunday morning.

According to the statement of probable cause, Hammock, 48 years old, had “numerous mature suspected marijuana plants” in the backyard .

Investigators said that one of the teens called 911 at 2:08 AM and said that he had been shot and his friend was dead.

The Shot Spotter Report indicated that three shots had been fired in the area, according to police records.

Both teens had been rushed to the hospital, where 15 years old Keylin Mosely was pronounced dead.

According to the autopsy report, the cause of death was a gunshot wound. The other teen had been hospitalized in critical condition.

The mother of that teen told police that her son had been shot twice – once while he was in the backyard and again when he was trying to climb the fence to escape. She told police that he may be paralyzed from the waist down.

According to the affidavit, Hammock told police that a motion-detector light came on in his backyard and he looked out his window and saw movement. He said that he went outside and found the teens lying on the ground. He then refused to answer any more questions without a lawyer.

When investigators checked Hammock’s property, they found a semi-automatic handgun in the backyard. It’s not clear who that gun belonged to. Inside the house they found two rifles, a box of ammunition and four bullet casings near an upstairs window that overlooks the backyard, according to the affidavit.
