After the attack of the coronavirus, there were several restrictions imposed for the domestic and international air flyers. The Ministry of Civil Aviation of India now decided to lift off the mandatory Air Suvidha form that was made to be filled online for all the international flyers returning back to the country. The Ministry announced the news on November 21st. Air Suvidha is an online system that is introduced for international passengers to submit a Self Declaration Form about their current health status before they are flying. All the international passengers entering into India have to fill the form before boarding their flight. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare made it mandatory and the Air Suvidha portal was introduced last year.

The form was introduced after the wide spread of the Omicron variant last year. The portal was launched in August 2020 and the new travel guidelines were introduced on November 30th 2021. The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India asked the Indian government to withdraw the online Air Suvidha form for the inbound travellers as it turned out to be a burden for the tourism. All the nations have lifted the restrictions and the government now lifted the mandatory of Air Suvidha form. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia conducted several meetings after which the decision was made. Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) thanked the Indian government for the move. All the other restrictions for the passengers are now lifted by the Indian government.
