IAF Pilot Abhhinandan Varthaman to Be Released Tomorrow

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in Parliament announced that Indian Air Force Pilot Abhinandan Varthaman will be released tomorrow as a ‘Peace Gesture’

Imran Khan said, “In our desire of peace, I announce that tomorrow, and as a first step to open negotiations, Pakistan will be releasing the Indian Air Force officer in our custody,"

He also said “I tried to speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as I want to de-escalate prevailing tension between the two countries.”

"I am requesting the Indian government to not to escalate tensions from this point. Because then we will be forced to respond and retaliate, and that will not be a happy situation for both nations," Imran Khan says.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistan Army on Wednesday.

Yesterday, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar has also confirmed that Pakistan jets violated Indian airspace and attempted to target military installations in our side of line of country.

Indian Air Force foiled the Pakistan Air Force’s attempt and shot down one F-16 jet of Pakistan. In this engagement IAF lost MiG 21 fighter jet and Pilot who landed on the other side of the LoC after his plane crashed, was taken in custody by Pakistan Army.

The Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan was summoned by MEA, gave a demarche to Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for immediate and safe return of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
