A Forbes opinion has been calling out new work program for Denver's homeless people saying that it involves "big problems" and raise concerns regarding how much money is being paid to the contract company.

The city has started its new program naming Denver Day Works, which helped providing day labor for the homeless from last week.

Rita Robledo , one of the participants  said, "I am so happy to be working. It makes me feel good,"

A spokeswoman for Denver Human Services , Julie Smith said that they had been going to have their critics along the way, and they recognize that”.

The Forbes article said, that, to create job opportunities  for the homeless would be a wonderful idea  but apart from that a huge amount of money has been going to the contract company instead of wages which stands as one of the  shortfalls of the program.

One of the founders of the grassroots group, Benjamin Dunning  said that Advocates of Denver Homeless Outloud, agreed that "I think it's a little excessive on the administration side”.

Denver7 sought a copy of the contract with Bayaud Enterprises, showing that it has been paid $197,000, which has been around half of the pilot program's entire price tag of $400,000.

The city said that it would for six full and part-time employees along with  other overhead costs like T-shirts for participants.

Smith said that the city has the goal to help the homeless people finding some permanent works even if each participant can make only $600 through this program.
