Lafayette City Council has finally banned Dogs and other animals in the public event. They had started getting an increased number of complaints and safety advices. Hence the Council was forced to pass the order, to ban the dogs and other pets in the event premises.
The new rules restricts dogs and other animals at Lafayette Quaker Oatmeal Festival, 4th of July celebration, Art Night Out, Waneka Lake Concert Series and Beer Garden, Lafayette Peach Festival, Lafayette Brew Fest and Easter Egg Hunt. Service animals are still allowed at the activity events.
Gary Klaphake, the city administrator told, that it will take time for the public to accept this. It will be mentioned properly at events and on social media, detailing the new rules regarding pets. The animals get injured by people, and they start fighting with each other. Sometimes they bite children and adults as well. All these led the council to pass this resolution. This prohibition is intended to increase public safety and save the pets from injury .
With the new rules imposed for the pets, there is a possibility that people will get adequate place to keep their pets, while attending the events. But there was no confirmation about this issue.
