A Denver woman is being suspected of attempting to murder a teen girl who was shot in Denver on Sunday night.

The 33-year-old Cherry Robertson was arrested, but was let out on a bond of $100,000 on Monday morning.

The teenager suffered a gub shot in the shoulder at about 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Rosemary Street, a few blocks west of the Community College of Aurora at Lowry.

Recounting the horrific incident, 14-year-old Niela Coleman said after being shot.

"I was scared and I was crying," she said. "It hurt."

Coleman's mother said doctors removed the bullet from the bone of the teen's right shoulder.

After the shooting Sunday night, Robertson's daughter Jaclyn Allen that Coleman was bullying her.

"I wasn't bullying her daughter. I went over there one time to ask her daughter a question and I got shot," Coleman said. "She hit my brother and I went over there to ask her a question and she didn't want to answer it and her mom shot me."

Robertson fired a handgun at the victim, investigators said in the Statement of Probable Cause.

"The defendant then attempted to fire the gun again and chased (Coleman) with it back to the front of the building," the document said.

"When I got shot, I fell," Coleman said. "I blacked out for a minute, and then she kept on shooting."

Robertson told police she shot the girl and the gun was in her house, according to police.

Witnesses on the scene identified Robertson as the shooter and officers at once arrested her.
