The Indian High Commission in London on Tuesday witnessed violent protests over the India government’s move to revoke Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The protest eventually turned violent with damaging the building premises.

"Another violent protest outside the Indian High Commission in London today, 3 September 2019. Damage caused to the premises," the Indian Mission in London tweeted.

Responding to the tweet by India in the UK, London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the violent protests, saying it was "unacceptable". Khan said, "I utterly condemn this unacceptable behaviour and have raised this incident with @metpoliceuk to take action."

However, this is not the first time protests were carried out at the Indian embassy in London over the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. On Indian Independence Day (August 15), Pakistani and anti-Khalistani protesters pelted stones and eggs on embassy building and Indian diaspora gathered outside to condemn the Indian government’s decision.

UK police arrested four people in connection with the protests and a foot-long dagger was confiscated from one of the protesters, the police said.
