US coronavirus death toll crosses 5,000; 215,417 confirmed cases

With the consistent rise in the number of confirmed cases in the United States, the death toll in the country has surpassed the 5,000 mark, reporting 884 deaths in a day, making it the highest till now.

The statistics and the reports have been collected from the John Hopkins counter.

As of the timings of 0235 GMT, around 5,116 people in the United States have died because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The death toll in the US is lesser in comparison to Italy and Spain but has surpassed the death toll of China.

Currently, the United States has the maximum number of confirmed cases across the globe, reporting over 215,000 cases.

While the President of the country, Donald Trump didn’t expect things to get this worse initially, he has recently opened up that this is about to get even more horrific in the coming few weeks and that the citizens need to take this seriously at this point to contain the spread.

Even Anthony Fauci, who is currently working for the coronavirus virus team in the US suggested saying that the number of deaths in the US could get worse and amount to 100,000 to 200,000 people if the situation is not put to control.
