A Church dedicated to Marijuana opens in Denver

Denver has welcomed its first ever Church of Cannabis in the city on April 20th. The church has been named as the International Church of Cannabis and has a massive area of 13,000 square feet. It is the largest social gathering place in the world, where people can freely smoke marijuana with one another. The 113-year-old building is located at the West Washington Park neighborhood.

The founders of the church are calling themselves “Elevationists,” a play on words for the euphoric feeling one gets when they smoke the flowering plant, which also their religious sacrament.

The church is an open-minded congregation that welcomes people from all the faiths, cultures and communities. It believes that people can reach spiritual fulfillment with just a little of THC.

In a press release co-founder, Briley Hale said, “We were so happy to find a space that already had a spiritual history, and to be able to retain that element in the use of the property.”

“It’s a great privilege to be able to turn this building around, rather than watching it being converted into condos or left abandoned to attract vagrancy and crime,” he added.

The church is requesting for donations to continue repairs on the building. It needs $100,000 to replace an ancient boiler and to make accommodations for those with disabilities.

The church is providing a membership for a donation of $4.20 and also will invite to their “420 sessions”.

“The truth is that Elevationists are everywhere,” said Hale. “But we need to finally come out of the shadows, from teachers, to homemakers, to corporate executives.”
