Man arrested for Bomb Prank

A 20 year old man was arrested by FBI for writing a note which indicated that there was a bomb planted on a plane travelling to Denver International Airport on 16th January.

According to the arrest affidavit, Cameron Korth claimed that he found a note in the flight’s airport, which stated there was a bomb on the plane and that the pilot should not attempt to land the flight.

When the flight landed, the plane was parked on an isolated runway and it was swept by the explosive detection canines with the help of Denver state police department. All the passengers were evacuated into buses which were already waiting.

Officials did not locate any explosive device.

Cameron Korth was eventually asked to write down an account of the whole incident which occurred on the flight, and then authorities noticed that the handwritings  were similar on both the notes.

State police and the FBI then determined that Korth wrote the note in his seat and took it to the bathroom and placed it on a toilet seat cover before drawing attention of a flight attendant.

Korth was arrested and he was charged with maliciously conveying false information, he can be sentenced to serve 10 years in a prison and would fine up to $250,000.

Korth’s initial court appearance is scheduled on 25th January at 2 p.m.

The Denver Police Department and the Denver Division of the FBI handled the investigation into the incident.
