Possible Exposure of  Measles in Denver

The Health department’s of the Denver state and Boulder area are warning their citizen’s of an individual person who is carrying the measles disease, the person reportedly stopped at many businesses and restaurants, while the disease contagious.

The unknown person is described as a non vaccinated adult who recently traveled to other international city. The dates of possible exposure to the public are 21 December 2016 to 29 December 2016.

Measles is a respiratory illness, and the disease can be easily spread by coughing and sneezing. The disease is dangerous for those people, who have not been immunized. Serious complications can occur due to Measles, including pneumonia and swelling of the brain.

The health department says symptoms of measles typically begin 7 to 14 days after exposure, but may take up to 21 days to appear.

Symptoms of Measles typically includes fever, runny nose, red eyes that are very sensitive to light and coughing. Two to four days after the first symptoms, red rashes appear on the face and later it spreads to the rest of the body.

A person suffering from measles is contagious for four days before the rash appears and up to four days after the rash.

If you develop symptoms of possible measles, call your doctor first and explain about your symptoms. Going to your doctor’s office or hospital is not a good idea, because measles is highly contagious.
