Snow hits Colorado mountain,storm spit and blow in Denver!

Snowstorms, that rolling through Colorado mountains is likely to drop a foot of snow in some areas by Tuesday morning, and state highway crews on Sunday night had been scrambling to keep traffic flowing on major passes as accidents forced delays.

But according to National Weather Service forecasts, the big snow miss metro Denver.

NWS meterologist Kyle Fredin said, “This goes to fall in 1 inch to 3 inch increments through Tuesday morning. When it’s done, we’ll be looking at 6 to 12 inches, primarily at elevations higher than 9,000 feet. We might witness up to 20 inches in western Jackson County near Rabbit Ears Pass above Steamboat Springs,” . Fredin also added that down in metro Denver, winds are expected at 15 to 20 miles per hour in urban corridors, with gusts up to 40 mph and 75 mph in the foothills.

A few storms may have spread toward the city, but a little snow will stick, and Roads could get wet.

Colorado Avalanche Information Center officials had been monitoring rising hazards in the high country.

Colorado Department of Transportation bulletins indicated U.S. 6 (Loveland Pass) had been closed because of avalanche hazards on Sunday evening.
