Teen died in wrong way clash,I-25

A teenager had been killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 25 early on Thanksgiving morning. Investigators believed that alcohol ran behind the main reason for the wrong-way crash.

Colorado State Patrol said the the crash happened shortly after 3 AM on Thursday on I-25 near Highway 7. Two vehicles had been reported to be involved in the crash, a Jeep and a Subaru.

Josh Lewi, Colorado State Patrol spokesman told CBS4 that the Jeep had been traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-25 when it struck the Subaru.

Alex Rodriguez, the driver of the Jeep, 25 years old, from Ft. Lupton, had rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Subaru, a 16 years old male from Windsor had been taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The passenger in the Subaru, Kyle Nackos, 19 years of Severance, had also been killed in the crash.

Lewis said that everyone was wearing a seat belt but they had suspected that the driver of the Jeep Rodriguez had taken alcohol before he started driving.
