Google has officially entered the 5G era with Pixel 5 and 4a which also become the first phones to run on Android 11.

Google Pixel 5 is the premium phone when compared to 4a with a Snapdragon 765G chipset, which means pixel users will no longer get the top-of-the-line chipset though the previous pixel models often had under-clocked chipsets.

Google’s focus is not really on performance everytime it launched its flagships but the chipsets that give the ultimate camera performance to the phones.

The camera of the Pixel 5G is a major change ever witnessed. While the previous model had a telephoto camera this one contains a 16 MP ultra wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Zooming in the Pixel 5 phone will be done through the 12.2 MP camera and also with the Google’s AI algorithms.

The sensor on this phone does not have large pixels for the night time shooting and also do not have a high resolution for the lossless digital zoom. Google this time is heavily dependent on the computational photography.

Both Google Pixel 5 and the 4a versions are the first smartphones to support 4k recording and of course not 8K because the sensor does not support high resolution.

The display of the Google Pixel 5 phone is 6.0” diagonal while the average display of Pixel 4’s is 5.7”.

The resolution for the Pixel 5 phone is the same as other models from Google which is 1080p but this one has a 90Hz display.

The Snapdragon 765G processor on Pixel 5 has an X52 modem that supports 5G connectivity. Sub-6 is being supported on all the Pixel 5 versions but in some countries, this might work on mm-wave networks which means you only get Wifi 5 instead of Wifi 6.

Pixel 5 has a 4080 mAH battery at 18W charge. When compared, the Pixel 4XL only had 3700 mAH battery.

This extra capacity of the battery along with the Snapdragon 765G should keep the Pixel 5 working for a longer duration.

Interestingly, the body of Pixel 5 is dust and water resistant as it is IP-68 certified.

The body of the device is made of recycled aluminum and is textured so that it provides a better grip.

PS: this also hides your finger prints.

Despite all this, Pixel 5 gets for itself the wireless charging as well as the reverse wireless charging.

Instead of just the Standard black color, Google this time came up with Sorta Sage, a new color.

The finger print on the device is rear mounted.

Pre-orders of Pixel 5 have started today before the availability in 8 countries on October 15 and in the US, the sale starts on October 29.

The smartphone is priced at $700.

If you pre-order between October 1 and October 14, you will get Bose QC 35 wireless earphones for free. This offer is only valid in the UK, Germany, France and Ireland.

Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 4a 5G is the 5G version of 4a working on sub-6 but is quite large when compared to pixel 5.

We mean to say, the display of 4a 5G is 6.2” with 60 Hz refresh rate.

The phone is also more powerful than 4a as it comes with the processor same as Pixel 5.

The cameras are also ideal to Pixel 5. The 8MP selfie camera lies inside a punch hole.

The Pixel 4a 5G has a 3.5 mm headphone jack which the Pixel 5 lacks.

However, the battery of this phone is smaller with 3,885 mAH.

The body of the phone is made with polycarbonate and is neither dust nor water resistant.

The Google Pixel 4a 5g is priced at $500.

The pre-orders for 4a 5G will start on November 5 but in Japan, it will go on sale on October 15.
